Pulp Mill
The pulp mill is designed to produce Bagasse Bleached (Chemical) Pulp based on agricultural residues mainly Bagasse and wheat straw/ wood. The pulp mill has Bale breaker, depithers, wet wash zone, and Continuous Digester (Horizontal 3 tubes) for Cooking, Washing, Screening, Centri -cleaning, and a Chorine Hypo bleaching system with a C-E-H-H Bleaching sequence.
Bagasse is procured from sugar mills and is processed through double depither where approximately 80% of the total pith is removed. The raw material is then processed further and pulp is formed which will be used in the writing and printing division. The process of producing bleached pulp from raw material is as given in the following process flowchart.
Process Flowchart of Pulp Mill:

Advantages:
- The pulp produced in the Pulp Mill will be used as raw material in the Writing & Printing division which would result in a better quality finished product (i.e. paper) in terms of brightness strength and purity.
- Since in-house pulp mill is used for raw material production, controls can be applied through-out the manufacturing process which results in better quality of finished product.
- The paper produced from Agro Pulp (Bagasse) have a relatively higher selling price than that of paper produced from waste paper pulp.
- As bagasse can be procured only during the seasonal period (i.e. between November – May), the cost does not vary as stock is stored for 6 months
- As compared to imported waste paper, the cost of raw material is affected by the fluctuation of exchange rate.
